2/13/2018  -   UPDATE ON FLU SHOTS: We are now OUT of the 2017-18 flu shots and we will not be receiving any further supply. Therefore, we will not have any further flu shot clinics this season. Thank you!
2/10/2018  -   In the last month or so, there has been widespread flu activity in the Atlanta area. We want our patients to have the most up to date and reliable information about the flu, including symptoms to expect and what to watch for, how to best treat these symptoms, and when to seek medical attention. Please use the following websites when looking for information and tips concerning the flu virus. www.cdc.gov/flu/takingcare.htm and choa.org/flu
12/14/2017  -   Unfortunately, Piedmont Pediatrics does not and will not be taking Ambetter nor Kaiser exchange insurance. We do however have a self-pay rate scale for those of you who wish to continue seeing our providers. Please call the billing office or office manager to discuss the specifics if you are interested. Thank you.
1/21/2017  -   ALLERGY TESTING: We are now offering allergy testing for respiratory allergens, including grasses, trees, dust, weeds, molds, and pets. Please talk to your doctor if you would like to make an appointment for skin testing with our qualified allergy nurse practitioner, Abby Ivie. We plan to initiate immunotherapy (allergy shots) in Spring 2017 for those patients that would benefit from this treatment option.
5/11/2015  -   NEW ADHD appointment policy: For all patients who routinely take stimulant medications for ADHD, we are implementing a better policy to monitor growth and side effects of these meds. After initially establishing the right medication and dose with your doctor, it is advised that the patient be seen every 3 months during the first year and then every 6 months thereafter for follow-up. Annually, this appt will be the full well-child-check. However, these other quick appts will be for weight, height, blood pressure, and side effect monitoring. These appts may be with your primary doctor or with Barbara Koval, NP, who is specifically trained in ADHD as well. Thank you in advance.
2/18/2013  -   Piedmont Pediatrics strongly discourages walk-in patients during the week. If you bring your child in on a walk-in basis on Mondays through Fridays, we will offer you an appointment later that day. For this appointment, you may wait or come back at the appropriate time. We try very hard to accommodate every family's needs on the same day, but we also want to honor the appointments previously scheduled in an efficient manner. Starting immediately, there will be an added fee of $35 to your bill if you walk-in during the week and disrupt the daily schedule. Thank you for your understanding.
3/2/2012  -   We hold shot-only clinics on Tues, Wed, and Thurs afternoons from 1:30-4pm. These clinics are for children who are up-to-date on their well-child physicals, just behind on their vaccines. You do not need an appointment for these shot-only clinics. PLEASE NOTE: All patients younger than 18 yrs old need a parent or responsible adult present to receive vaccines. Thank you.
7/6/2010  -   THE PHYSICIANS OF PIEDMONT PEDIATRICS AND THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF PEDIATRICS ENDORSE WWW.HEALTHYCHILDREN.ORG. THE WEBSITE HAS MANY GOOD QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS FOR GENERAL PEDIATRIC PATIENTS AND PARENTS ALIKE. CHECK IT OUT.
